How To Help Jamaica After Hurricane Melissa

This week, on 28 October 2025, Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as a Category 5 storm, one of the most powerful to hit the region in modern history. The destruction has been immense: widespread structural damage, power and infrastructure breakdowns, communities flooded, lives lost, and thousands displaced. Relief organisations are already on the ground, and the ever-resilient Jamaican people are out in force, helping their communities to withstand and rebuild. Still, they need support to make this happen.

The Jamaican Government are asking that all donations be sent to supportjamaica.gov.jm as this is the only official government-authorised site for hurricane recovery support and will ensure that the funds are allocated appropriately to those most in need.

The platform includes:

  • A secure ‘Donate Now' option for individuals, diaspora and organisations

  • An interactive shelter locator for those in need

  • A transport tracking system for relief resources

If you can’t donate money, please continue to share information like this on your social media accounts so that those who are able to donate can do so.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those in Jamaica who have been affected by this disaster.

From all the team at Reggae Roast.
