REGGAE ROAST PRESENTS THE WAILERS
We are pleased to announce that Reggae Roast is heading back to the Jazz Cafe for another exciting event with the most legendary Reggae group of all time; The Wailers. In stark contract to our recent Warehouse Dance, this will be a chance to enjoy the luxury of one of London’s top live music venues. The Wailers are stopping in London for just two nights as part of their extensive world tour. We are honored to host this special Sunday session, and will be warming things up for a full live set from the band with front man Brinsley Forde, playing classic tracks such as; ‘Could You Be Loved’, ‘Stir it Up’, I Shot The Sheriff and many more.
Together with former lead singer, the late great; Bob Marley, the Wailers have sold in excess of 250 million albums worldwide. In England alone, they’ve notched up over twenty chart hits, including seven Top 10 entries. Outside of their groundbreaking work with Marley, the Wailers have also played or performed with international acts like Sting, Kenny Chesney, the Fugees, Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana, and Alpha Blondy, as well as reggae legends such as Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, and Burning Spear. As the greatest living exponents of Jamaica’s reggae tradition – still led by original bassist and musical director Aston “Family Man” Barrett to this day – the Wailers have completed innumerable tours, playing to an estimated 24 million people across the globe.
Tickets are on sale now for this legendary Sunday session, where true Reggae legends play live in this unbeatably intimate venue. Supported by Reggae Roast DJs Exel & Moodie, hosted by Ramon Judah.
